Your first visit to Urban Warriors: Demo or trial class?

By Urban Warriors · Published September 15, 2026

A Demo is a short introduction to the gym and a coach. A trial class lets you experience a regular one-hour session. Choose the visit that answers your family’s biggest question: “What is this place like?” or “Will my child enjoy the class?”

Which first visit should you book?

Our booking page offers two ways to begin. A Demo includes a facility tour, a program overview, and a mini private lesson. Plan for about 30 minutes. Trying a class gives you a closer look at the pace, activities, and group experience over one hour.

If your child wants to meet someone before joining a group, the Demo may be a useful starting point. If they are eager to participate and you want to see a full session, ask about a trial class in the appropriate age group. Follow the details shown for the appointment you select, including any charge.

What should your child wear and bring?

  • Clothes they can comfortably move in. Our FAQ asks participants to avoid skirts and dresses.
  • Laced-up shoes and a water bottle.
  • Any questions about class placement, participation needs, or the weekly routine.

For a trial class, our booking page asks you to arrive 10 minutes early to complete the waiver and get ready. Review the confirmation before leaving home. The gym is at 709 Industry Dr, Tukwila, WA 98188; check your route for the time you plan to travel.

What happens in a regular kids class?

Kids sessions last one hour and start with a warm-up. The program uses challenges, courses, and games to practice movement and teamwork. It draws on parkour, martial arts, and gymnastics, so the experience is broader than repeating one type of obstacle.

The exact activities can change. Treat your first class as a chance to notice how instructions are given, how a new student joins in, and whether your child enjoys the process. Completing a difficult move is not the test of a successful first visit.

What should you ask before enrolling?

  1. Placement: Which group suits my child’s age and experience? Kids groups are ages 6–8 and 9–12.
  2. Learning: How do you introduce a movement that is new to my child?
  3. Routine: Which current class has room, and can we attend it consistently?
  4. Terms: What is included in the membership, and what are the current cancellation and missed-class policies?

Write down the answers for the specific class you are considering. A class that works with school pickup and dinner is easier to keep attending than one that looks convenient only on paper.

How do you decide after the visit?

Ask your child what they enjoyed, what felt confusing, and whether they want to try again. Share those details with the coach. “The balance challenge was fun, but joining the group felt hard” gives the team more useful information than a simple yes or no.

Common questions

Does a beginner need parkour experience?

No previous parkour experience is needed to book an introduction. Tell the team that your child is new so you can discuss an appropriate starting point.

Is a Demo the same as a full class?

No. The Demo is about 30 minutes and includes a tour and mini private lesson. A trial class is a one-hour group session.

Can we use open gym as our first visit?

Our FAQ currently describes open gym as members-only. Book a Demo or ask about a trial class instead.
