What happens in a one-hour Urban Warriors kids class?
Urban Warriors · Tukwila, Washington · The program
An Urban Warriors kids class starts with a full warm-up, then uses movement challenges, courses, games and varied setups to practise skills and teamwork. Classes last one hour and are grouped into ages 6–8 and 9–12. The Tukwila program emphasises adaptation, communication, encouragement and fun.

Warm up, then work through challenges
The warm-up prepares students for the session. After that, the class uses different challenges and activities to bring movement practice to life. The published program describes courses, games and unique setups rather than promising an identical minute-by-minute lesson every week.
Physical skills with a purpose
Students work on balance, coordination, climbing, jumping and other movements. A task might ask a child to judge a distance, make a decision or change an approach. There is room for effort as well as listening, patience and trying again.
The group is part of the lesson
Teamwork is central to Urban Warriors. Students have opportunities to communicate, encourage someone who is still figuring out a challenge, and apply their abilities beyond themselves. The goal is to connect physical practice with problem-solving and working together.
